Welcome to the third monthly Blog Traffic and Income Report for The Mastermind Within! Each month, we will be posting our blog statistics to give readers an understanding of the nuts and bolts of what Erik and Henry are doing and achieving here at The Mastermind Within.
This post will take the following form: first, a recap of the various posts written by Erik and Henry throughout the month. Second, the traffic and income statistics which are gathered from Google Analytics and the various affiliate and ad networks The Mastermind Within takes part in. Third, we will discuss what changes or strategies we have for the next month, April 2017, to try to boost traffic. As always, any and all feedback is gladly welcomed. I know that I don’t know everything about blogging. (not even close)

March 2017 Post Summary
In March, Henry and Erik posted 17 times. As mentioned in our goals post, we want to post 250 times in 2017. In January and February, we posted 47 times. With 17 posts in March, that makes 64 for the year. We are on pace for 256 posts in 2017; we just need to stay consistent and we can accomplish this!

March 2017 Blog Statistics
In March 2017, we had 3,157 page views and we made $34.43!! Big money!! (You think we can retire off this? Joking!) This was an increase of 6% in viewership month over month.
March 2017 Google Analytics Summary
March was an interesting month for traffic. In the middle of the month, we started focusing on SEO. As a result, by the end of the month, more traffic was coming in from search engines. Our bounce rate is lower, pages per session are higher, and average session duration is higher than February. These are all good signs.
March 2017 Income Report
In the Income Report, you can see the breakdown of revenue for the month of March: we have affiliates links throughout the site from Bluehost, Amazon, MyFinance, SoFi, and Xtheme. In addition, we utilize Google AdSense. As the page views increase, these numbers should increase. Time will tell; this is a fun experiment!
We got 2 orders from Amazon which resulted in $1.14. While not a lot, it proves some of our affiliate links work. MyFinance is a really cool affiliate program which you can see at the bottom of this post. They have high quality content which is not spammy. By getting a few conversions, we were able to make $28.15 on these affiliate links!
In April, we are going to focus on increasing traffic. Henry and Erik are posting on Quora, as well as focusing on SEO. Jake, the newest contributor, is writing a number of entrepreneurship posts and an ebook. Finally, we will get out more products to increase the diversity of potential income streams.
As you can see above, 33 subscribers and 7,782 views in 3 months is far from great (especially if we want to take this full time.)

Action Steps for April
We have been doing okay for 3 months of blogging. For the most part, we’re excited about the possibilities and opportunities for this blog. To increase traffic in the third month, we tried to drive traffic through different social media sites. So far, Twitter and StumbleUpon have been the two sites we have been using. StumbleUpon has loved our book reviews. I’ve heard that Pinterest is a big driver of traffic; I want to explore it in April.
Also, we spent a fair amount of time commenting on other people’s blogs. We do this for two reasons: one, it is part of our mission statement. We want to build a community where knowledge can accumulate and ideas can prosper.
The Mastermind Within Mission Statement:
The Mastermind Within hopes to build a collaborative community where ideas can flow openly, and readers can build knowledge and experience amazing personal growth.
The second reason is it is a fairly decent method to get traction in the blogosphere. By commenting on the following sites, we were able to get a majority of our page views:
In the coming months, we will keep providing value through posts and products, continue to be consistent with our posting, look into SEO, and continue to grow each and every day! 🙂
What do you think is 5,000 views and $150 possible for April?!?
How did March go for your blog or website? What tips or tricks could you share with us to improve our blog?
